  • Libbet Cone, LCSW - she/her

    Therapist/Elder

    Libbet comes to the work of Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy with 40+ years of experience providing psychotherapy, influenced by many modalities such as Hypnotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, EMDR, Mindfulness Meditation, Holotropic Breathwork, and Transpersonal Psychotherapy. Her interest in Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy comes out of her experience working with trauma which has shaped her belief that non-ordinary states of consciousness are able to access deeper unconscious material as well as an expanded awareness of the truth of who we each are. She is trained in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy and completed the MAPS MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy Program.

  • Selma Holden, MD - she/they

    Medical Director / Therapist/Co-Owner

    Selma is a family doctor who went into conventional medical training with a passion for harm reduction and holistic health promotion. Selma incorporates her broad background in integrative medicine modalities including yoga, mindfulness, herbalism, and psychological alchemy into her skills as a psychedelic therapist. She is trained in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy, Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Therapy and is informed in Internal Family Systems. She’s an amateur musician who thankfully lives with a family that tolerates her developing skills.

  • Shauna Sedler, PMHNP - she/her

    Therapist / Co-Owner

    Shauna is a board certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with over 13 years of experience working in healthcare. She is dual certified in psychopharmacology and psychodynamic therapy. She completed a year-long Psychedelic Assisted Therapy certification program through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute out of Boulder, CO. She is a certified somatic psychedelic facilitator through the Embody Lab. She has received additional training in MDMA-assisted therapy through the MAPS as well as treating trauma with KAT. She is also level II Reiki certified. Her style of therapy is eclectic and includes a blend of insight-oriented, mindfulness, transpersonal, humanistic and Internal family systems modalities. Before joining Riverbird she ran her own private KAT practice. She is a mom and loves to dance and be in nature. She believes building community is an integral part of healing.

  • Maddy Riker, RN - she/they

    Nurse, Intake Coordinator

    Maddy is a nurse who has worked in a variety of healthcare systems. She has 8+ years of experience working alongside patients with terminal illness. She has completed trainings in teaching yoga and mediation, and also practices Reiki and Sound Healing. She has also received training in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.

  • Matthew Stevens, DO - he/him

    Therapist

    Matt is an Integrative Family Physician originally from Idaho. He came to Maine in 2010 to complete his residency in Family medicine at Maine Medical Center and went on to complete a fellowship in Integrative medicine through the University of Arizona and Maine Medical Center. In his medical practice he found himself gravitating towards patients with mental health issues and desired a more profound exploration with his patients.

    Seeking ways to get to the deeper causes of suffering he trained in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, including Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and is a current trainee in the MAPS MDMA-assisted psychotherapy program.

  • Carolyn Branson, LCPC - she/her

    Therapist

    Carolyn is a therapist in private practice in Portland, Maine, with a passion for somatic psychotherapy. She has been inspired by a number of mindfulness-based therapies--among them Hakomi, Focusing and Internal Family Systems--that center our felt experience as a guide to healing. She is interested in embodied spirituality and practices authentic movement as a source of deep connection. Carolyn’s psychedelic experience includes training in ketamine-assisted therapy (through KTC), psychedelic somatic interactional psychotherapy (through PSI) and MDMA-assisted therapy (through MAPS). She feels honored to accompany people as they enter non-ordinary states of consciousness in search of greater healing.

  • Rachael O'Donnell LCSW, LADC - she/her

    Therapist

    Rachael is a therapist in private practice with nearly 20 years experience in the mental health field. Her approach to therapy is rooted in Internal Family Systems and integrates somatic and mindfulness techniques. She is also licensed in substance abuse counseling with a depth of experience supporting humans engaged in the work of recovery. Rachael found her way to psychedelic therapy out of a desire to help her clients access the deeper levels of healing that altered states of consciousness can facilitate. She believes that helping clients reconnect with their own inner healing wisdom and find community are powerful tools for transformation. She completed her psychedelic therapy training through Naropa University and is a trainee in the MAPS MDMA psychotherapy program. Rachael is studying to be an herbalist, loves to spend time hiking with her Bernese Mountain Dog “Bigelow”, and is deeply committed to her own growth and evolution.

  • Liz Strawbridge, MD - she/her

    Therapist

    Liz Strawbridge is an integrative family physician who believes the path to health starts by connecting to our bodies and our truth. In her practice, she uses tools she has collected from training in conventional medicine, integrative medicine, manual medicine, plants and various wisdom traditions including Ayurveda and Chinese medicine. She is a graduate of the CIIS training program for Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapies, and has been trained in MAPS MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy program, as well as Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy. She believes the opportunity to feel whole and healthy is a universal right.

  • David Wright, PMHNP - he/him

    Therapist

    David is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. He has undergone Ketamine-Assisted Therapy training through the Ketamine Training Center and an integrative psychiatry fellowship through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. Additionally, he has been accepted into MAPS MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy program. In his clinical work, he synthesizes relational psychodynamic, integrative, existential, somatic, and mindfulness perspectives. Prior to joining Riverbird, David spent many years working in numerous psychiatric departments, including outpatient, inpatient, and the behavioral emergency department, as well as psychiatric consults in various medical departments.

  • Colin Reid, LCPC - he/him

    Therapist

    Colin is a licensed clinical counselor whose approach is informed by gestalt, emotion-focused therapy, somatic and mindfulness-based therapies. He has a deep interest in meditative traditions and has spent significant periods in silent retreats in North America, Thailand, India, and Nepal. He is trained in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, including Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy, and has been trained in MAPS MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy program.

  • Caroline Ginsberg, MSW - she/her

    Therapist

    Caroline has worn many hats at Riverbird Clinic since its founding, including administrative, research, and clinical.  Caroline draws from trauma-informed, client-centered approaches such as Internal Family Systems (Level 1 trained), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy; and as a trained yoga teacher and birth doula, is grounded in somatic and mindfulness practices. She has also received training in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.
